How to work under pressure?

Work is a continuous process. But work can either be done with happiness or with stress in mind. To understand the phenomenon of work under pressure, we need to be clear about the words Work Pressure, Stress and Tension. And we need a deep understanding that, if our mind is in peace and harmony, it can handle a lot more work than a stressed mind. So let’s explore those methods to overcome our fears about work pressure.

Work pressure is a phenomenon where the target is to achieve any particular amount of work done in a time-frame. More work pressure means the time-frame is less and the target is high. Actually high work pressure has nothing to do with the stress, and tensions. Stress is our choice. You may work under high pressure and even you can remain peaceful and happy inside.

Stress can be defined as:
Stress = External Pressure / Inner Strength (Resilience)

If External Pressure is high, it may be due to targets, exams or deadlines, then in order to manage the stress, we need to have higher inner strength. This formula can help us to identify how to reduce the stress level. Stress is a wrong creation of thoughts which can create uncomfort in our mind. Example is, when there is high work pressure, our response can be how will I finish this much amount of work, and we may become burdened in our mind. This burden in mind can be termed as stress. And it is going to reduce our efficiency. If the stress is high, it may even lead to serious health problems.

Tension is another factor which reduces our inner strength. A person with tensed mind or a tension full nature is always weak. Tension is that state of mind, where mind creates high level of fluctuations between positive and negative thoughts. All of us must have experienced this state of mind during our final results in school time. One thought used to be the dream thought to pass or top in all subjects and in the very next thought used to be a fearful thought that if I failed then what will happen. It again can be reduced with the practice of meditation, where the mind stabilizes and acts with stability.

So, if you want to work efficiently under pressure with ease, you need to work on your inner strength. And the best way to increase your inner strength is practicing meditation.  Start learning meditation and follow the techniques to transform your life. The best meditation technique which I personally recommend is the Rajyoga Meditation taught by Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University which is spread worldwide.
